Graduated in Film Studies and in Scriptwriting and Scriptwriting Expertise, Sébastien Boatto is an independent script doctor since 2010. He has collaborated with various production companies (Bien ou Bien Productions, Novanima Productions, 13 Productions, Palaviré Productions, Mia productions…) and several authors (Franck Phélizon, Ali SattarISpour, Latifa Said, Thibault Le Guellec…).
The films he has worked on have been selected in hundreds of festivals and have received numerous awards (César for best short film in 2017 for Maman(s) by Maimouna Doucouré; César selection for best animated short film in 2020 for Mon Juke-Box by Florentine Grelier; Best Screenplay Award at the 32nd Lille European Film Festival for Eloïse Lou by Marc Baradat…).
He teaches scriptwriting at the 3IS school and narratology at the University Bordeaux Montaigne.
He has contributed to various reviews (CinémAction, Théorèmes…) as well as to collective works (Le Cinéma des années Reagan. A Hollywood Model ; A World History of Propaganda Cinemas from the Origins to the End of the Cold War…).
